LoL at the Staples Center: An eSports Milestone

Riot Games has been spearheading eSports with League of Legends since the end of their Season 2 Championships. Such strides include the success of the North American competitive league LCS and the recognition of gamers as athletes allowing players easier access for US Visas. Riot Games reached their biggest milestone now by hosting the most anticipated 2013 event at Staples Center.

On the evening of October 4th, Staples Center in Los Angeles became venue for North America’s largest eSports event to date. Riot Games hosted the League of Legends Season 3 World Championship Finals at the super-sized 88,000 square meter Arena with a 20,000 person capacity.
